Ukrainian Christmas For Children – Sat, Dec. 21
Our popular Ukrainian Christmas for Children event is back! On Saturday, December 21st from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, join us for fun afternoon featuring crafts, music, singing, Vertep, Ukrainian dancers, a present for each child and refreshments for all. Cost is $15 per child. Last year, we had a fantastic turnout and sold out quickly.

Malanka 2025 – Sat, Jan 11th
We are excited to invite you to Malanka 2025 – Ukrainian New Year Celebration – on January 11th, 2025. We have a wonderful evening planned for your enjoyment including a delicious Ukrainian dinner, Ukrainian dancers, music by the Mike Sanyshyn Band, door prizes etc. Please refer to the posters below for more information.

Join us for a delicious Ukrainian meal at our upcoming Friday Night Supper on February 21, 2025! We offer a great option for getting out for dinner with family and friends. We are open for both dine-in and takeout from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Ukrainian Musical Theatre Classes for Children
We are excited to introduce our Children’s Ukrainian Musical Theatre classes! These classes focus on voice training, acting, plasticity, and creative development, and are conducted in both Ukrainian and English.
Class Highlights:
- Bilingual Instruction: Classes are held in both Ukrainian and English.
- Parent Viewing: Every two months, parents can attend and observe the classes.
- Performances: Children will participate in performances for various holidays and special events.
Class Details:
- Location: Ukrainian Community Society of Ivan Franko, 5311 Francis Road, Richmond.
- Schedule: Twice a week (Monday and Thursday), from 16:00 to 18:30. Different start times are available for different age groups.
- Age Group: Classes are available for children aged 4 to 15.

Ukrainian Dance Classes for Children start this September
We are very pleased to partner with Ukraina Dance Ensemble to offer Ukrainian dance classes for children beginning on Friday, September 13th. We are offering the following:
- Classes for 6 to 8 year olds start at 5:00 pm.
- Classes for 9 to 12 year olds start at 6:15 pm.

Ukrainian Language Classes – Fall 2024
Once again, we are pleased to offer Ukrainian language classes. We are very fortunate to have Alla Dudka as our instructor. Alla has been offering classes for the past two years and we very much appreciate her expertise. Our classes are at a beginner level with the following three options:
- Beginners level 1: No Ukrainian language experience. Night of the week to be determined. Lessons will be via Zoom.
- Beginners level 2: With some Ukrainian language experience. The students in this class have participated in 10 to 20 lessons and have some basic understanding. The class will be scheduled for one hour on Monday or Tuesday evenings via Zoom. The night of the week to be determined.
- Beginners level 3: This is an advanced beginners class. Students in the class have been participating for one to two years and are comfortable having basic conversations. This class will be scheduled for one hour and fifteen minutes on Thursday evenings via Zoom.

Canada, Here We Are – Exhibit On Display Until January 22nd
The Richmond Museum is currently showcasing the Canada, Here We Are Exhibit. This travelling exhibit, from the Royal BC Museum, tells the fascinating story of generations of Ukrainian Canadians in Canada. The exhibit closes on January 22, 2025. We have also partnered with the museum to provide on loan some of our Ukrainian artifacts for this exhibition.
